Our Artists Shine in Dream Art Contest

We’re delighted to share the remarkable achievements of two of our talented artists, James Kwon Takhar and Federico Tresierras, who recently participated in the 2023 Dream Art Contest by KASEC, Korean American Special Education Center.

Finalist Winner – James Kwon Takhar
“My Dreamy Silhouette”

James has captured hearts with his vibrant colors, expressive line work, and imaginative storytelling through his characters. His artwork, “My Dreamy Silhouette,” speaks volumes about his dreams and loves. In his silhouette, he has painted animals, stars, and food, all within the contours of his unique shape. Holding a rainbow, he shares his dreams with the world.
We’re thrilled to announce that James is one of the Top 12 Finalists in the 2023 Dream Art Contest. As part of his achievement, he will be awarded a $300 scholarship, a trophy, and a certificate. His artwork will also be featured in KASEC’s calendar, spreading his creative vision far and wide.

Honorable Mention Awardee – Federico Tresierras
“Guardian of Peace”

Federico is a meticulous and imaginative artist who excels in storytelling through his characters. His artwork, “Guardian of Peace,” depicts a superhero single-handedly saving the city from chaos and injustice, symbolizing his dream of maintaining peace and inspiring others to do what is right.
Federico has been recognized as one of the 12 Honorable Mention awardees in the 2023 Dream Art Contest. As part of this honor, he will receive a $50 gift card, an award, and a trophy.

Upcoming Award Ceremony and Exhibition

Both artists will be celebrated at an upcoming award ceremony and exhibition, taking place on Saturday, September 16th at The Source OC – 1st floor, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (award ceremony starting at 10am). It’s a wonderful opportunity to witness their talent and dedication firsthand, along with celebrating the achievements of other talented artists in our community.

The Dream Art Contest isn’t just about recognizing artistic talent; it’s a movement to raise awareness and encourage artists with developmental disabilities. It opens doors to showcase their work locally and even in international galleries.
Join us in celebrating these remarkable achievements and the boundless possibilities that art can create. Stay tuned for more updates on their artistic journeys as we continue to nurture creativity and inspire the world, one masterpiece at a time.
